For those who don’t know, World Backup Day started last year as a Reddit post from Ismail Jadum. He had a friend that sadly lost some data, and this person thought that it would be a great idea to have a day in the year to set aside to promote data backup awareness, and it was a coincidence that this happened just a week before April’s Fool Day. All this means that you are encouraged on March 31st World Backup Day to take some time to create a full backup of your computer, or at least from everything that is important to you, like documents, music, videos, photos, bookmarks, etc. Remember that is not the matter of “if”, is the matter of “when”, computers will fail, hard drive will corrupt data, USB will break or get stolen. There isn’t such a thing as too much backup, and you shouldn’t do it only once a year, World Backup Day is just a reminder. If your files are important, you should at least backup once week. If you needed a reason, this is one! Making a backup is not a difficult task, the only thing is that depending on how much data, it might take from several minutes to several hours. Space is not longer an issue, today you are able to find great deals on hard drivers. For example, Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB – Internal Drive, the Western Digital 2 TB USB External Hard Drive, or Seagate Expansion 2 TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (better for portability), which gives you a large amount of space with an affordable price. To create a simple backup, just connect an internal or external hard drive to your computer, create a folder called MyBackup03312012, and just copy and paste all your important files. You can also try using Windows 7 backup built-in tool to create a full-backup. Other forms of backup include:
