Tile Folders are a way for you to organize and personalize your tiles in Start. However, the feature isn’t entirely new, Microsoft first introduced it with the Windows 10 Phone 8.1 Update 1, then the feature carried over Windows 10 Mobile, and now on an ongoing effort to converge experiences across devices, Tiles Folders is coming to the desktop version of Windows 10.
How to create Tile Folders in the Start menu
The process to create a new folder in the Start menu is simple. The only thing you need to do is to drag and drop a tile on top of another tile to start a new folder. To group more tiles together, simply drag and drop another tile on top the folder, and repeat the steps for any other tile you want to add. You can add as many tiles as you want in one group. The folder will also display a small icon for each tile, giving you a quick way to figure out the items inside of the group. If you have a big number of tiles on a group, you can change the size of the folder to see more icons in the tile. Right-click the folder, select resize, and pick the tile size. To delete a Tile Folder, simply remove all the tiles from the group. As you can see, Tile Folders is a small feature, but it can come in handy to optimize the space and organize your tiles to improve the way you use the Start menu. If you can’t create folders in the Start menu is probably because you’re not running the Windows 10 Creators Update. If you’re an Insider, you can use this feature starting build 15002 and later.
